New Apple employee, Product Manager of Mobile Commerce Benjamin Vigier has years of experience in NFC (Near field Communications). For those of you that are less clued up, NFC is used in swipe cards and it can be used in anything from paying for things, to tickets and even in some very rare circumstances have been known to unlock your car.

Of course this doesn’t mean that the iPhone 5 will have all these capabilities as no LG phone, Sony Ericsson phone or any mobile phone for that matter have these capabilities, yet. Of course employing this fiddly chap will stand Apple in good stead to be able to develop and incorporate this kind of technology into their next handset.

The reason he has been employed by Apple is that earlier this year they enquired about a patent for a device that would have NFC technology which would basically mean that the new handset has some of the latest technology right at it’s fingertips.

Vigier has previously been product manager mFoundry, where he developed applications like the PayPal mobile service and a mobile payments system for Starbucks. So whether or not the next iPhone, the iPhone 5 will have any of the new technology that is available to Apple or not, remains to be seen but you can bet your bottom dollar that Apple are trying their hardest to find even more ways to make the use of your iPhone even easier.
